Total productivity defines the success of the leader. Productivity is a broad term that includes the efficiency of the whole organization. If the leader is productive, it will encourage the entire organization to work to achieve the goal.

Leaders are role models for many employees. They can set the benchmark for the competitor and their employees. To boost the employees’ morale, they have to take adequate steps and continuously work on the different areas.

Start by scheduling the task:

Managing an array of tasks is quite challenging. If you keep track, surely you will accomplish the critical task. If you miss the task, your entire plan and schedule get disturbed. To eliminate this disturbance from your commitments, start by scheduling the task.

If you have five major tasks in the day, make a plan to achieve those tasks by allocating the proper time. Schedule the deadline for yourself.

If you have something important five days down the line, then mark it in the calendar and set the reminder alert for yourself. Since you may be preoccupied with other tasks, you may forget the task that needs completion shortly.

It is better to set the reminder for self rather than rely on others to alert the reminder.

Communicate with the team:

Productivity is teamwork and not the sole responsibility of the leader. The better the team’s productivity, the better will be the organizational performance. As a leader, you have to keep employees in the loop.

You have a new concept, don’t restrict it to yourself. Instead, introduce it to the employees. As a leader, you have to work towards the betterment of the employees. Every organization needs trained and expert employees. If you invest time in employees, you will notice a lower turnover rate and increased commitment. Also, you have to arrange a one-to-one session once a week to know the challenges employees face. In this session, you can also provide feedback to the employees and help them understand the areas of improvement.

You have to know the strength of the employees so that you can assign the task based on their capability. Also, you need to know their weaknesses so that you can help them improve those areas.

Effective communication is essential, both in the office and in life. Will you spend the whole day replying to emails and calls? Maybe not! Without compromising the critical task, you must keep some time out for these activities.

You have to work into two categories: one is urgent, and the other is important. You can categorize important tasks as completing the goals and require your dedication and attention. On the other hand, urgency does not necessarily contribute to long-term goal achievement.

Some urgent tasks like meetings, phone calls, or mail may only eat up your energy without the proper productivity.
